HORSE TRAILER TYPES

Gooseneck Horse Trailer

If you are looking for a Horse trailer that is easily maneuvered, a gooseneck is the way to go.  Parking and turning can be a hassle, but a gooseneck trailer makes it easier.  A gooseneck Horse trailer also gives you the option of a sleeping or storage space provided in the nose area.  A gooseneck trailer is great for your towing vehicle too, it allows you to tow a heavier load without needing to upgrade.

Living Quarters Horse Trailers

Bumper Pull Horse Trailer

A Bumper Pull Horse trailer is a good alternative if your tow vehicle cannot accommodate a gooseneck hitch.  The bumper pull trailer is also a good choice if you need to consolidate your space.  Bumper pull trailers allow you to leave your truck bed open for other storage while still towing your horses or livestock.

Slant-Load Horse Trailer

If you often haul yearlings or mares and foals, a slant-load Horse trailer is the best option.  When working with inexperienced loaders and travelers you want every advantage you can get.  The slant-load trailer offers the horses the advantage of standing at a diagonal and this aids their balance a great deal.  A slant-load trailer may also be used for livestock by pinning back the swinging panels allowing for a roomy interior.

Straight-Load Horse Trailer

The straight-load trailer is an option for hauling your horses as well.  Most inexperienced loaders may have difficulties with a straight-load.  This trailer is ideal for the horse that is used to being hauled facing forward.

Stock Trailer

The stock trailer is ideal for hauling livestock and other larger animals.  Horses can be transported in stock trailers as well, thus increasing their usability.  The stock trailer is ideal for horses that require more room when being transported.  Stock trailers have semi-open sides that allow for air circulation and work well in hot and dry climates.  Also, the stock trailer can transport more in one load.  The absence of stalls makes the whole unit lighter which means you can load more at once.

Two Horse Trailer

A two horse trailer is the perfect choice for the horse owner who hauls only one to two horses at a time.  This trailer is a good option when your towing vehicle cannot pull the weight of a larger trailer.  These trailers are also smaller so storing them is a bit easier than with the larger horse trailers.

Three Horse Trailer

If three horses is the maximum amount you would pull in any given trip, then the three horse trailer is for you.  The three horse trailer is not the right fit for you if you only plan to haul two horses and use the other stall as storage.  Three horse trailers are more expensive and take more space to store.   The three horse trailer does offer you the option of hauling a friend’s horse along with yours or if you may be gaining a third horse of your own.

Four Horse Trailer

The four horse trailer is the key to taking your whole family on the road.  The four horse trailer enables you to haul up to four head at a time comfortably and safely.  Generally this trailer is used by professional trainers and transporters, but can be used by all.  This trailer requires a one ton or more sized truck to haul.
